Cost-Per-Copy Program
The printer/copier/fax combination obtained through the university
cost-per-copy program is the most cost effective solution for
the bulk of your printing needs, plus supplies and maintenance are handled
by the copy vendor. Your cost is about 1.5 cents per page, plus the
cost of paper. Although the machine you receive from the program is fixed
based on your printing volume, upgrades are available for a monthly fee.
As a backup for larger numbers of users, we also recommend a workgroup grade
networked laser printer in
the same area, which may be color. This printer can be used for special stock printing
(labels, letterhead, etc) on a regular basis, or placed in a less-open location
where it is more appropriate to print confidential documents. In addition,
this printer serves as a backup for the copier if it were to break down.
Additional Printers
Offices with multiple locations, or offices with lab facilities, would need
additional capabilities. Because different departments have different
needs, the IT group can work with you to develop with a cost-effective
solution to meet your needs.
