Building an Events Calendar
The event calendars on the Student Affairs website are a powerful way to present useful information about your campus events and programs. Calendars can provide concise date and time information, event descriptions, and links to other details and helpful information.
The following guide will help you learn how to add events to your calendar and explain the various options that are available when creating your events. If you would like a new calendar added to your site, please e-mail the IT Operations Group. We'll need to know:
- Your department name
- The network IDs of staff members/students who need access to the calendar
- The expiration date for staff members if access is only temporary
Overview
Many departments in Student Affairs use event calendars on their websites. Here are a few samples:
Careers calendar - Event calendar appears on the right side of the page under "Upcoming Events."
Thwing calendar - Event calendar appears on the right side of the page, and also includes a small image of a calendar.
Leadership calendar - Event calendar appears in full monthly view on a web page.
Accessing Your New Calendar
Once you receive a confirmation e-mail from IT support, an IT staff member will schedule a 15-minute training session by phone to provide details on the interface and how the calendar works. After the training, you will receive an e-mail link with a web address, so you can locate your calendar on the site.
Adding New Events
