Work-at-Home Resources
If you need to work from home, we have a list of resources you'll need for accessing hardware, software, and other computer-related information.
You will need to have a computer if you plan to work from home. The university has developed a partnership with
major computer vendors that provide discounts to employees. The division also sells surplus computers
to staff at an extreme discount.
In order to effectively work from home, you will also need high-speed internet
access. The university has negotiated discounts for cable and DSL services from
local providers.
For security purposes, many resources and services require that you access information from campus. A VPN connects your computer to the campus network so you can safely and
securely access these resources.
As a university employee, you have work-at-home rights for some of the
software available to you on campus.
You can access your entire Outlook mailbox (including e-mail, contacts,
calendar, and tasks) through Outlook Web Access.
Remote desktop allows you to remotely log onto your work computer. When logged into remote desktop, the
display for your work computer will appear on your home computer so you can
access all of the same resources and file servers as if you were
sitting at your desk on campus.
