Purchasing a Computer
If you want to purchase a new computer, it may be worth your time to check out special
educational deals that are available from some of our preferred vendors.
Computer marketing is a complicated business, however, and you may be able to
find a better deal at the retail level. If you decide to compare prices,
make sure you are comparing computers with similar features.
We've compiled some hints and tips for purchasing, and we'd be happy to answer
questions you may have about finding the right computer. Please note that we are unable to
provide support for your home computer.
The division purchases most of its computers from Dell. If you are looking
for a machine that looks like the one on your desk, this is the place to go!
Employees receive a discount for personal purchases through our preferred vendor
contract.
The division leases most of its staff computers. This equipment is recycled back into the division when the lease ends, but many machines are waiting
for a new home. Although the machines are three-to-five years old, the machines are in
good working order and still powerful enough for most light work tasks.
