Using the Cisco VPN Client
The Cisco VPN client is the primary supported method of establishing a VPN
connection as the Cisco client is available for many different operating
systems, including Windows, MacOS and Linux.
Notice: The Cisco VPN client is provided and supported by
Information Technology Services. You will need to contact the
Help Desk at 216-368-HELP if you need additional assistance.
Installing the Cisco VPN Client
- Visit http://vpnsetup.case.edu to download the client software.
- Run the installer file.
- Press Ok, then Next.
- Select 'I accept the license agreement' and press Next.
- If you like, you can change where the client is installed. We recommend leaving this setting on the default.
Then press Next.
- Press Next again to start the installation.
- You make get a message that pops up to confirm you want to install new "hardware". Press Continue Anyway.

- After the installation is complete, press Finish. It will then ask if you want to reboot.
You must reboot before using the VPN client.
Connecting with the Cisco VPN Client
- Run the VPN client by going to Start > All Programs > Cisco Systems VPN Client > VPN Client

- Press Connect.
- When you are sucessfuly connected, the title of the VPN client window will say "Status: Connected".
Disconnecting from the VPN
- When you are done using the VPN, you should disconnect by pressing Disconnect, which is in the same place as "Connect". You can then close the VPN client.
