Upward Bound Application
To participate in the Upward Bound program, you must be:
- Low-income
- First-Generation (neither parent with whom you live has a four-year college degree)
- Student at high risk for academic failure
- A US citizen, national or permanent resident (must have a green card)
- Age 13-19 (grades 9-11 at the time of selection). 8th graders are eligible to apply.
- Attending or planning to enroll in one of the following Cleveland schools: Collinwood High School, East Technical High School, East High School, or John F. Kennedy High School
Services Provided
- Enrichment Instruction (Saturday classes during Academic School Year)
- Counseling (Personal, Academic, and Career)
- Tutoring
- Workshops
- College Planning and Placement (College Visits, Applying for College Admissions and Financial Aid, etc.)
- Cultural Activities (Plays, Field Trips, etc.)
- SAT/ACT and PSAT Review
- Ohio Graduation Test (OGT) preparation
- Six-Week Summer Residential Program (June and July)
